TransposeAny ♯ ♭ Slowdown ▼ Loop ↳ Chrome Extension · Last updated: August 21, 2026
Overview
TransposeAny is a Chrome extension that helps musicians practice with video lessons and Instagram Reels using speed control, pitch transpose, looping, and beat-aware practice tools.
The short version: Your practice data stays on your device. The only information that reaches our servers is anonymous and contains no personal data — it is used solely to keep the extension working correctly.
What we collect
TransposeAny does not collect personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, or account credentials, and we do not have access to your browser account or YouTube or Instagram profile.
The extension stores your saved loops, bookmarks, and preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser and is not shared with any third party. You can remove it at any time by uninstalling the extension.
To keep the extension running smoothly, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage signals — such as which features are used and whether operations succeed or fail. These signals contain no personal data, no video content, and no identifiable information.
Audio stays on your device. All audio processing — including speed change, pitch shifting, and beat analysis — happens entirely inside your browser. No audio is ever sent to our servers.
How we use information
The anonymous usage signals we receive are used only to:
- Understand which features are working and which need improvement
- Detect errors and performance issues
- Make decisions about future development
We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the extension.
Third parties
The TransposeAny extension does not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party analytics platforms. The extension communicates only with our own servers, operated by the same developer. (Our marketing website, transposeany.com, does use third-party website analytics — see “Website analytics” below.)
TransposeAny operates alongside video pages but does not access, read, or transmit your watch history, account details, comments, or any other account-linked information.
Website analytics
This policy covers the TransposeAny browser extension. Our marketing website (transposeany.com) is separate and uses two third-party services to understand how visitors find and use the site. These run on the website only — never inside the extension.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous, aggregated usage such as page views, referring links, approximate (city-level) location, and device or browser type. It does not store your IP address.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session activity (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) and aggregate heatmaps that show which parts of a page are used. Text you type and on-page text are masked by default.
- Google Ads conversion measurement — if you arrive from one of our ads, the ad click carries an identifier (a “click ID”) in the web address. We store it in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days so that, if you go on to install the extension, we can tell that the install came from that ad. It tells us how many installs an ad produced. It does not identify you, and we do not use it to build a profile or to target you with further ads.
All three set first-party cookies in your browser for this purpose. They apply only to visits to transposeany.com and collect nothing about your activity on YouTube, Instagram, or any other site. You can opt out using any cookie- or tracker-blocking browser setting or extension, or via Google’s opt-out tools.
When you install the extension it opens a welcome page on transposeany.com once. That page is what records the install for the measurement described above, and our server logs the visit — the time, the extension version, and the ad click ID if you arrived from one of our ads. This is a count, not a profile: no account, no identifier of you, and nothing that links the install to anything you do inside the extension afterwards.
Website feedback
The website has a feedback form. If you use it, we receive what you choose to type: a name, your message, and — only if you enter one — an email address, along with the page you sent it from and your browser type. We store this on our own server and it is also delivered to us as an email (via Amazon Simple Email Service, acting as our mail carrier). It is used solely to read and, if you left an address, answer your feedback — never for marketing lists, and never shared or sold.
Data retention
Data stored on your device is kept until you clear it or uninstall the extension. Anonymous server-side signals are retained only as long as needed for operational and product improvement purposes and are not linked to any individual.
Children's privacy
TransposeAny does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data from any user, this applies equally to all age groups.
Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this privacy policy at any time as appropriate. If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the last updated date at the top of this page will reflect that change and users may be notified through the extension. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
